Whether the overall design of a house makes sense, good lighting is a non-negligible element. Proper lighting design for the whole room is just like when we are in different scenes we need to match different costumes. It’s not that the more glitzy you are, or the more accessories you have, a simple T-shirt and jeans may not be appropriate for a dinner party, but it’s certainly the most comfortable for you when you’re about to get to work. The same goes for lighting design.
Types of Lightings
Before you determine what the room is going to be used for. There are four basic types of lighting which will help you understand how lighting is used. Sometimes you can use more than one type of lighting in a room.

Ambient Lighting
This is considered general lighting. It includes recessed lights, soffit lighting, track lighting, sconces, chandeliers, and pendant lights.
You can see this light in your daily routine. Ambient lighting provides the foundation and general illumination of a room. Aside from the basic lighting functionality it provides, ambient lighting enhances the sense of warmth and depth of your space.
Task Lighting

This type of lighting should make it easy to see the things you are working on. Some task lighting is in the form of table lamps, pendant lights or under-cabinet lighting.
Accent Lighting
There is something in common between the function of accent lighting and ambient lighting. But there are two differences between them. One is that accent lighting emphasize more on highlighting the important aspects of a room or an area of architectural interest. The other is that accent lighting is usually about three times brighter than ambient lighting.
Once you have installed your ambient lighting, you can add extra character to your space by installing accent lighting. There are many ways you can do this, whether it’s by using table lamps or LED tapes.
Natural Light
This is the light that comes from the windows, doors or skylights. It can vary in brightness because of weather and time of day. Natural light has a great influence on the overall atmosphere of the house. So when you are decided to buy a house, pay attention to this factor.
